I did not expect this place to be that good nor have great service, but they are very deserving of 5 stars. We had 2-3 servers taking care of us at any given time. I made reservations the morning of and this place was busy on a random weekday. They have all types of nigiri, sashimi and Asian fusion dishes. Definitely recommend getting any dish with salmon, yellowtail, monthly scallop with ponzu sauce, Phoenix and Blissful rolls. The food comes out quickly. They give you 3-4 ordering sheets of paper to put down everything you would like to order. I saw 4 chefs in the back making the rolls. There was no issue with the +20 food orders we placed. I noticed the yellow tail and salmon were really fresh and buttery. Only complaints about this restaurant are that there was only 1 bathroom and the restaurant is very narrow. But, you're in NY so nothing new. There is free parking in the parking lot. I loved the variety of dishes here and the great service our party received. The restaurant is fairly loud and I didnt see any children here. Definitely recommend coming here if you want some quality sushi and want to try a bunch of different dishes. Also remember to make resys prior to dining here.

I am quite convinced Akino is unbeatable in this realm. It's my (and my sister's) favorite AYCE sushi spot in Queens (risky claim but probably all of NYC - there, I said it). Its proximity to home and easy access via the train station make it a convenient go-to. In fact, we love Akino so much that we've started measuring the value of other restaurants based on the "Akino Scale" (yes, it's a thing now). Are we getting our Akino worth of sashimi at [insert any sushi restaurant] given [x] price? Would it have been better to just have head to Akino altogether? The sashimi here is fresh, and the value is hard to beat (I mean where else can you gulp down tons of sashimi like there's no tomorrow without any judgement? Part of it might be because they're too busy to judge). The monthly specials are a delightful twist and keep me coming back to see what's new. Recently, they added takoyaki and fried clam to their menu and they're good enough. Sure, bigger pieces of octopus would be nice and it probably won't be the best takoyaki ever, but at this price point, it's hard to complain. One of my unexpected favorites? Their matcha latte. But hold on matcha enthusiasts, warning alert: it's not your traditional matcha but one that's (inarguably) pumped with artificial sugar. But hey, it tastes good! It's like pure dessert in a cup - sweet, creamy, and tastes like matcha ice cream (with a hint of vanilla). My sister, who usually isn't into traditional matcha lattes, loved it. Service has been consistently good. The servers are always super nice and efficient with getting our orders. The initial wait for the first round of orders can be a bit slow, but things speed up quickly after that (they're like ninjas with sushi platters lol). The ambiance is solid. One thing to note is that the tables are quite close to each other, making it feel a bit crowded, but it's a minor inconvenience (think of it as a cozy sushi commune). Tip: pay with cash for a 5% discount :)

My Queens friends ALWAYS rave about this spot!! I finally made the trip out and had the opportunity to dine here for my friend's birthday! We made reservations over the phone in advance for a party of 9 at 6 pm. We only had to wait ~10 min for our table to be ready. Very efficient AYCE ordering system, where you write down the number of plates you want for each respective item. We HAD to get their sashimi pieces, which were thinly sliced and very fresh! We DOWNED the platter in 10 min LOL Reasonably priced AYCE prices for lunch + dinner as well, considering their quality. Service is great as well! Only 1-2 bathrooms, which may cause for long lines. Highly recommend if you're in the Elmhurst area, but be sure to make reservations in advance as it's a very popular spot!

Went for lunch on a weekday. 25.99 for lunch AYCE, Monday through Thursday! Servers were efficient with taking away empty plates, and the food items, especially hot ones, came incredibly quick. YUM!! The sushi was so fresh, and rolls were delicious! The fish to rice ratio was amazing... so much more fish and very little rice! The avocado salad was so generous with lots of avocado piled on top. BUT, the fried items weren't great, besides the tempura squid. The chicken teriyaki was incredibly dry. Udon noodle soup with seafood was yum and a good palette cleanse! Don't get any roll with "mango". It's just mango sauce on top, not actual mango lol Overall, great bang for your buck, but stick to the sushi and not the fried items!
